The nation is celebrating the Defense of Pakistan Day with enthusiasm and zeal across the country.

The day began with the 31-gun salute in Islamabad and a 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals.

A change of guard ceremony was also held at the Quaid’s mausoleum during which cadets of PAF Asghar Khan Academy assumed ceremonial guard duties.

Gatherings are being held to offer Fateha and Quran Khawani for the martyrs of the 1965 war across the country.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: In his message on the occasion of Defense of Pakistan Day, President Dr Arif Alvi said that the armed forces of Pakistan had thwarted the intentions of the enemy with unparalleled courage and would never back down from their principled stand on Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Defense Day is a symbol of courage, bravery, patriotism and devotion to duty, the president said.

He said that the armed forces and security agencies were playing an active role in the security of the country.

President Alavi said that our forces are also playing their role in natural disasters, the Armed Forces are also involved in maintaining world peace under the banner of the United Nations. Pakistan is fully aware of all the changes taking place around it.

Meanwhile, a special ceremony was held at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Lahore Cantt to pay homage to the martyrs of the 65th War.
