PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz left for London on Wednesday morning after she received her passport on the orders of the Lahore High Court a couple of days ago.
According to local media, Maryam is leaving for London by a private airline’s flight at 10 am. It is likely that she will stay there for one month. She offered Fateha at the graves of her grandfather, grandmother and mother before leaving for London.
And in all probability, she will accompany her father Nawaz Sharif back to Pakistan.
Her family sources said she would get a medical checkup during her stay in London.
Maryam had to surrender her passport after getting bail in a corruption reference in 2019.
The PML-N leader had approached the LHC against the anti-graft body, saying despite the absence of any charge sheet against her or trial, she had not been able to exercise her fundamental rights for four years.
She had pleaded that she was in dire need to go abroad to attend to and inquire after her ailing father, requesting the court to direct the deputy registrar to return her passport in the “interest of justice.”
On Tuesday, she got her passport from the deputy registrar’s room.
