The COVID-19 cases continue to spike in Pakistan as the positivity ratio hits 5.2%. In the last 24 hours, the country registered 47 fatalities due to the deadly virus while 2,545 people tested positive, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Sindh followed by Punjab.

As of July 15, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 42,330. On Wednesday, 48,910 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 16,528; Punjab: 17,325; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 9,915 Islamabad(ICT): 2,043; Balochistan: 1,592; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 721 and Azad Kashmir (AJK): 786.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 237 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in GB and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 916,373 recoveries.

A total of 981,392 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 21,481; Balochistan: 28,588; GB: 7,163; ICT: 84,083, KP: 139,960; Punjab: 349,111 and Sindh: 351,006.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 22,689 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 10,852 casualties followed by Sindh: 5,647 KP: 4,377; Islamabad: 787; Balochistan: 317; GB: 113 and AJK: 596.

639 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,619 patients being treated across the country. A total of 15,248,715 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the pandemic started.
