500,000 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines donated by China arrived in Pakistan today. The is the second batch of Chinese vaccine to arrive in Pakistan, after the first that was received on February 1.

The vaccine shipment arrived at Nur Khan Airbase in Islamabad, where Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health Dr Faisal Sultan was present to receive it.

Chinese media outlet CGTN confirmed the news on its official Twitter account.

The vaccines are manufactured by Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm. An earlier batch of the same vaccine is currently being administered to healthcare workers and elderly citizens across Pakistan.
