KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and National Database and Registration Authority Tuesday inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at PIA office, paving the way for PIA to acquire Online Verification Services, Business Process Automation, and Payment Gateway Services, considered as core specialities of NADRA.

Prior understandings were developed between the two teams that worked very hard to bring two national organizations together for PIA customers’ benefit and convenience. 

The MoU was signed by CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik and Chairman NADRA Usman Mobeen.

Speaking on the occasion, CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik highlighted that PIA is open and reaching out to partners in both Government and the Corporate sector, for forming partnerships and exploring synergies. 

The CEO commended the launch of various digital services by NADRA and acknowledged NADRA’s support for PIA’s repatriation flights to the US, during the COVID period this year. 

He appreciated how NADRA executed the project on short notice by developing customized payment portals resulting in smooth operations. 

He said that PIA believes that with the help of NADRA’s services, PIA will bring transparency in its internal processes and add further convenient services to its regular customers and travel agents. 

Usman Mobeen, Chairman NADRA also appreciated CEO PIA’s vision and reiterated his organization’s support in helping the national airline adopt technology for bringing efficiency and automation.

Chairman NADRA added that NADRA has been partnering with leading organizations of the country to promote digital culture in Pakistan and bring modern services for Pakistani citizens.
