While talking to a UAE media outlet, Javed Afridi hinted that Morris Garages (MG) Pakistan is planning to launch a budget-friendly car for the middle class.

Although Afridi refrained from giving any details but there has been much anticipation towards the MG3 ever since Javed Afridi shared teasers of the car on his social media a few months ago.

MG3 is a sub-compact family hatchback that is likely to rival the Suzuki Swift, KIA Rio, Toyota Vitz, and other similar compact hatchbacks.

In the international market, the vehicle is available with two engine options, one of which is a 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated, four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 105 hp and 137 Nm of torque. The other is also a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 109 hp and 150 Nm of torque. The former comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and the latter has a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The MG3 can be had with several modern features including a standard eight-inch touch-sensitive infotainment screen, Sat-Nav, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera with dynamic guidelines, multi-media controls on the steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, AC with dust and pollen filter, a four-speaker premium sound system, and USB/AUX connectivity, 6 airbags, various driver-assist modes, among other features.

Despite MG selling only CBUs across Pakistan, which has caused a few problems in delivery times for the company, MG’s popularity in the market has become undeniable. And with the initiation of local assembly operation in near sight for MG, the future certainly looks promising, especially if the automaker makes these three additions to its lineup in Pakistan.
