The government of Pakistan announces that it will be providing sugar to the citizens at the rate of Rs 80 per kg.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Food Security Jamshed Iqbal Cheema released a statement on Tuesday stating that the government also plans to provide relief to the people in purchasing essential food items such as ghee and pulses.

Appreciating the agricultural produce Cheema said that crops such as cotton and sugarcane have done well this year hence the farmers should also look forward to receiving a good price for the produce from the government.

He further pointed out that the state has already provided subsidies to farmers on the purchase of seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
