The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has released the provisional revenue collection figures for the first six months of the current fiscal year.

The FBR has collected net revenue of Rs 2,204 billion against the set target of Rs 2,210 billion from July to December. According to FBR’s statement, this is 98 percent of the target set for the first six months.

Furthermore, the revenue collection stood at Rs 508 billion 97.7% of the target of Rs 520 billion. In December 2019, FBR collected Rs 469 billion in revenue.

About 2.3 million returns filed till 31st December compared to 2.17 million last year. Income Tax paid during filing of returns stood at Rs.43.5 billion compared to only Rs.28 billion, showing a rise of percent.

During July to December 2019 tax collection amounted to Rs. 2,101 billion. Refunds released amounting to Rs 102 billion compared to Rs 53 billion for the same period the last year.
