CEO at Tesla, Elon Musk has said the company’s Model S Plaid vehicle might be ready for launch in China early next spring.

Late on Sunday night, while answering a question on Twitter regarding the availability of the electric sedan in China, Musk said, “probably around March.”

China has a population of over 1.4 billion people, and it is the largest electric car market in the world. Other electric vehicle makers in the country include Xpeng and Nio.

Model S Plaid was launched by Tesla in June this year, costing a reported $129,990.

The car boasts a 520-mile range and it can reach speeds of up to 200 miles per hour (320 kilometers per hour).

At the time of the launch, Musk had said it would be, “Faster than Porsche but safer than Volvo.”

It must be noted that this summer, a new Tesla Model S Plaid caught fire in the US while the driver was at the wheel.

Tesla shares in New York rose by 0.36% to $1,161 in pre-market trading on Monday.
