The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Food Security, as party candidate in National Assembly constituency NA-133 Lahore by-election.

According to Shahbaz Gil, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Political Media, a meeting of the Lahore Parliamentary Board was held under the chairmanship of Imran Khan, in which Jamshed was unanimously nominated as the PTI candidate for the by-election.

The NA-133 Lahore seat had recently fallen vacant following the death of PML-N’s Pervez Malik.

In the 2018 general elections, Pervez Malik had defeated Ijaz Chaudhry of PTI.
