The COVID-19 cases continue to decline in the country as the positivity ratio was recorded at 2.94 per cent in the last 24 hours. This is the first time the rate has gone below 3pc since February.

Furthermore, Pakistan recorded 53 deaths while 1,383 people tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.

As of June 8, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 46,190. On Tuesday, 46,882 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 15,115; Punjab: 18,948; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 7,824; Islamabad(ICT): 3,033; Balochistan: 1,210; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 333 and Azad Kashmir (AJK): 419.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 402 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 867,576 recoveries.

A total of 935,013 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 19,538; Balochistan: 25,893; GB: 5,655; ICT: 81,806, KP: 134,781; Punjab: 342,805 and Sindh: 324,535.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 21,376 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 10,349 casualties followed by Sindh: 5,144 KP: 4,164; Islamabad: 766; Balochistan: 290; GB: 107 and AJK: 556.

639 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 3,446 patients being treated across the country. A total of 13,523,599 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the pandemic started.
