Good news for Pakistanis living in the United States who are fond of desi foods but miss it; they can now enjoy it as Kroger Co added Pakistani food products to their outlets.

Adviser to the Prime Minister for Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood announced this in a twitter message.

He wrote: “MoC is pleased to inform that Pakistani food products are now available at the @kroger Co. USA. We thank Kroger Co. for placing their confidence in Pakistan’s products. Our food brands will now be available in these stores. In order to further enhance our exports.”

“We have to be to attentive to brand development. Our local brands are still not recognized in the world market & hence more effort is required by our exporters,” he said.

Kroger is the third-largest retail store chain in the United States, having more than 2,700 stores in the country. Sale of Pakistani food at the store will give a boost and confidence to Pakistanis to compete at the international level.

According to State Bank (SBP) data, Pakistan’s export to the US stood at $3563.734 million during July-March 2020-21 which was 14.81 percent higher than the previous financial year.
